Information We Collect

Symmetry processes camera photos, facial measurements, profile details, and analysis results to provide its scanning and personalized insight features.

Depending on the features you use, this can include:

• Front and side facial photos you capture
• Face measurements, scores, and analysis results
• Profile details such as age, gender, ethnicity, height, weight, skin concerns, and goals
• Subscription and purchase information supplied by Apple through StoreKit

TrueDepth Camera & Face Data

Symmetry uses Apple's ARKit TrueDepth camera API to perform real-time 3D facial analysis during scan sessions on supported devices.

What is collected: During an active scan, the TrueDepth camera captures 3D face mesh geometry (approximately 1,220 vertex positions) and head orientation data (yaw and pitch angles). This data is used solely to compute facial symmetry scores and proportions.

How it is used: TrueDepth face geometry is processed on your device to guide capture and calculate measurements. A projected 2D mesh overlay may be stored locally with your analysis for display. Raw 3D TrueDepth geometry is not saved or transmitted to third parties.

Third-party sharing: We do not share raw TrueDepth geometry with third parties. When you request AI analysis, insights, chat, or generated previews, your captured photos, computed measurements, and relevant profile details may be transmitted securely to Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude to generate the requested result.

Retention: Scan data and photos remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. AI providers may process request data according to their service terms and retention policies.

Purpose limitation: The TrueDepth API is used exclusively for local, real-time facial measurement to compute the symmetry scores shown to you in the app. This data is never used for identification, authentication, advertising, or any other purpose.

How We Use Your Information

• On-device processing guides camera capture and calculates facial measurements
• Captured photos and relevant profile details are sent to AI providers only when required to deliver an AI feature you request
• Analysis results and photos are stored locally on your device
• Apple processes App Store subscriptions and provides verified purchase status through StoreKit

Data Storage

• Photos, projected mesh overlays, profile details, and analysis results are stored locally on your device
• AI requests are transmitted directly to the provider needed to generate the requested response
• You can delete all locally stored app data from Settings → Delete All Data
• Uninstalling the app removes remaining local data from your device

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store: For subscription purchases and restoration
• Google Gemini API: For AI-powered analysis, insights, chat, and generated previews
• Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered analysis and insights

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and delete data stored locally on your device
• Delete all app data stored locally on your device from Settings → Delete All Data
• Contact us at jakub.zitko@icloud.com if you cannot access the app or need help with a data request
• Cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store

Children's Privacy

Symmetry is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
